What is secndshft?
secndshft is the freelance professional graphic design and letterpress printing practice maintained by Christopher Jackson. In 2002, I began refering to this practice as secndshft. While in graduate school, I worked at a corporate graphic design job. During those years secndshft spent a great deal of time on hold, though I did a number of projects in my free time. Following graduate school I revisited secndshft and maintatin it's practice to this day. Projects range from identity design, publications, letterpress design and printing, web design, etc. Simply put, if it needs to be done, it will get done.

Me. Yes, secndshft.com is a one man operation.

What is your day job?
I currently teach graphic design full time at Emmanuel College, in Boston. When I am not teaching, I can be found designing for clients or printing in my studio.

So what is this about letterpress?
Late one evening last June I was searching the internet for a small tabletop letterpress machine with which I could make my wedding announcements. I happened upon a classified post and ended up with numerous drawers of wood and metal type, 3 presses and countless cuts. I still haven't designed my wedding announcements, but in the meantime, I have been designing posters for AS220, Relish, Emmanuel College and various other clients/projects.
